With a CIGS (Copper Indium Gallium Diselenide) thin film solar charger, solar couldn’t be easier! For the Torqeedo 1003 or 503, simply plug the panel into the charge receptical on the battery. Charge your Torqeedo motor even when you are underway. You will be adding to your travel time and in fact, you can move your boat along at up to 2 mph on a dead battery directly from the panel!As thin film solar panels go, the CIGS panel is as much as twice as efficient when compared to other thin film panels. Thin film refers to a very light foldable panel as opposed to rigid panels such as you might see on the roof of a house which are cells laminated to solar rated tempered glass.
