New Torqeedo 1003 arrives!
After much anticipation, Humber Boats finally took its first delivery of the new Torqeedo 1003. This motor actually won the environmental award for innovation at Miami Boat Show. There is an optional solar panel which permits charging while the motor is running adding to your travel time. In fact, you can even run the motor directly from the panel even if the battery is dead! Humber Boats will be returning to The Toronto International Boat Show!
After being absent this year, Humber Boats will be returning to The Toronto International Boat Show. It will just be a small 200 square foot booth in which I will be featuring The Humber Foton as well as Torqeedo motors.
If you plan on attending The Boat Show, call or email me by the first week of January and I can hook you up with a free pass. I don’t know my booth number as yet, but as soon as I do, my loyal readers will be the second to know (I of course will be the first!).

Humber Boats President John Rowley to be featured on the World Fishing Network
Despite its dubious reputation, Friday the 13th was indeed a very good day for Humber Boats. After having been contacted by Humber Boats in the spring of this year about my new solar powered Humber Foton, The World Fishing Network will be featuring the boat on their upcoming Green Show. I met with their producer/cameraman who filmed a few minutes of video of The Foton in action on Ashbridges Bay here in Toronto.
WFN is a specialty digital channel available in Canada on Rogers and Bell. For my American readers, I am sure your local cable company can hook you up. Sorry rest of the world, you will have to wait for the You Tube Posting! The next step will be to have your humble blogger in their studio for a personal interview with video running in the background during which I will touch on the highlights of The Foton as well as Torqeedo motors. I am told the show will be broadcast on January 15th of 2010. When I know the exact broadcast time, I will post it here.
If you do not get WFN, check the website video section for the show. I will hopefully have it posted by the 20th as I will be in the middle of the Toronto boat show until the 17th. As I will then be a TV star, autograph signings can be arranged given ample notice!
