Drinking And Boating

If you are the sort of person who likes to have a few beers and jump into your boat and go flying around the lake, DON’T BUY A HUMBER BOAT! In fact, you shouldn’t even own a boat. At Humber Boats, we are all boaters and and we want to enjoy our boats safely. Please don’t drink and boat!

Personal Floatation Devices

Anytime you are in your boat, for safety, Humber Boats recommends that everyone, not just kids, wear a Personal Flotation Device or PFD. Accidents happen, that’s why they are called “accidents” so be safe, wear a PFD.

Fueling Your Boat

gastanksBefore you can operate your boat, you need to fuel it. Make sure to use safety when filling and refilling your tank. Remove portable tanks from the boat before fueling, remembering to never fill a tank to the brim. It’s important to leave room for gas to expand and replace the fill cap tightly to prevent vapors from escaping. If spillage occurs, wipe up immediately and air out the rag after using it. The bottom of the boat or the water is no place for a gas damp rag! On-board storage of fuel should only be in safety approved storage tanks away from the engine and in an area with good ventilation. Try to avoid having to fill your tanks at night by being prepared. Use a flashlight or a light that is spark-proof. NEVER smoke or strike a match while fueling or when nearing a fueling dock.
